Hi friends! My brother came up with a brilliant idea for easy cooler lunches, and I have to share it. These Hawaiian roll “to-go” sandwiches are now a staple in our cooler—simple to prepare, portable, and mess-free.

We spend a lot of summer days on the lake and bring all kinds of food. I try to keep meals as hassle-free as possible, so I’m always looking for no-fuss, no-mess options that make a boating trip more enjoyable.

One weekend we went to my big brother Kevin’s house and spent the day on his boat. When lunchtime came, Kevin pulled Hawaiian rolls out of the cooler. At first I thought we’d just be eating rolls, but he had already turned them into perfectly assembled mini sandwiches. You simply grab a sandwich from the package—and lunch is served.

No hassle, no fuss, and no cleanup. I was impressed right away and knew I had to start making these for our cooler too.
The Most Delicious And Easiest TO GO Sandwiches For Your Cooler!

Cold-cut Hawaiian rolls are ideal for any cooler and any occasion. Make them at home ahead of time to avoid bringing condiments, utensils, and extra packaging. Assembling a few trays of these mini sandwiches is faster and easier than making many individual sandwiches on the spot.

My favorite part—besides how tasty they are—is that the sandwiches stay together in their original packaging. You can even label the package with a Sharpie so everyone knows which sandwich they’re grabbing.

This basic version is delicious—the sweet Hawaiian roll balances perfectly with salty cold cuts. But you can customize the sandwiches however you like with different meats, cheeses, condiments, or veggies. Any combination will travel well and taste great.

Throw a few trays of these in your cooler before your next boat day, picnic, or tailgate. They’re great for the lake, park, beach, camping, or any outing where you want an easy, ready-to-eat meal.

These sandwiches pair perfectly with simple make-ahead sides. If you like, prepare an easy salad that also travels in its container—no extra dishes required. I’ve also found that the trays help keep everything organized in the cooler.
I have to give a shout-out to my big brother Kevin for this idea. It has made lunch on the boat so easy and delicious—thanks, Kevin!
