Ninja Creami frozen yogurt is one of the easiest things to make in your ice cream maker. Turn your favorite yogurt into a healthy frozen treat using a few simple steps—your whole family will enjoy it!

About this recipe
If you already use the Ninja Creami to make homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt is just as quick and simple. In its most basic form this recipe requires only one ingredient: your favorite yogurt. It produces a pleasantly sweet-tangy flavor and a creamy texture—even when using fat-free yogurt.
I used Greek yogurt for this recipe because it adds protein and helps the frozen dessert feel satisfying. A half-pint serving of the finished frozen yogurt contains roughly 18 g of protein when made with a high-protein Greek yogurt. You’ll also retain the probiotics found in yogurt, an added benefit.
Store-bought frozen yogurt isn’t always lower in sugar, so making your own gives you full control over sweetness. Choose a low-sugar or sugar-free yogurt if you want to limit added sugar, or pick a flavored yogurt if you prefer a ready-made sweet base.

Ingredients
Greek yogurt: I like vanilla fat-free Greek yogurt (I used Chobani) because it gives a great vanilla base with no extra prep. Use any brand or flavor you enjoy. If you use plain Greek yogurt, add 1 tablespoon of honey, maple syrup, or another sweetener to taste.
How to Make Frozen Yogurt in the Ninja Creami

- Add 16 oz (a pint) of vanilla Greek yogurt to the Ninja Creami pint container. If using plain unsweetened yogurt, stir in your preferred sweetener now. Smooth the surface and ensure you do not exceed the max fill line. Freeze for 24 hours.
- Place the frozen pint in the Ninja Creami and run the “Lite Ice Cream” function once.
- Re-spin the pint two more times (run the same function again as needed) until the texture is creamy.
- If you want mix-ins, create a hole in the center of the processed frozen yogurt, add them, and run the mix-in function once.

FAQ
Can I make this sugar-free?
Yes. Use a sugar-free flavored yogurt or plain Greek yogurt and sweeten with a sugar-free sweetener (stevia, monk fruit, etc.) to taste. This way you control the total sugar content.
Is frozen yogurt a healthier alternative to ice cream?
It depends on the product. Some commercial frozen yogurts contain as much added sugar as ice cream. When you make it at home, you control the yogurt and sweetness level, so choosing a low- or no-sugar yogurt can make it a healthier option. You also preserve the probiotic benefits of yogurt.
Is it necessary to re-spin twice?
For lower-fat yogurts, additional re-spins help achieve a smoother, scoopable texture. I usually re-spin twice after the initial spin; you can experiment with adding a small amount of liquid after the first spin to help smooth it, but multiple spins typically produce a firmer, creamier result.
